The aim of the ground floor refurbishment was to give the family somewhere modern and stylish to be together, eat together, and relax together.
We focused on creating bright, light and welcoming spaces. Our design solution entailed the creation of a kitchen, with under-counter storage space, and a Hanex sedimentary wall panel to allow for the natural light to bathe the space.
Eye-level views into the raised garden were created, and distinction between the kitchen and adjacent entertaining space was achieved using full-height storage units. A palette of oiled oak flooring, combined with off-white walls, transformed the new study room into a bright, airy and warm space
The layout of the first floor was transformed by the creation of a central family bathroom flanked by double bedrooms. The soffit of the stairs leading to the loft was treated with a fire rated, pale blue satin paint and the landing in a corten effect metal cladding. The spine wall adjacent to the staircase was stripped back to reveal Imperial brickwork which we re-pointed and coated. The combination of the corten cladding and exposed brickwork gave the stairs a rustic appearance.
Up in the loft, there was space enough for a master bedroom, single bedroom and shower room. To open the space to stunning new views of the adjacent gardens, we installed a large window in the master bedroom loft so that panoramic views could be enjoyed day and night.
